It was, however, funny in the sense that unrefined verbal brawls between two barbarians can be funny (what makes these kinds of things funny is probably a good candidate for my pretentious ramblings about fiction). It’s not exactly quality writing, and the material doesn’t really showcase enough to judge the voice acting. What caught my interest was this video that got passed around a lot more after the Steam release: I’m aware that some of the sudden popularity was created by some manufactured controversies about the game’s content, but that’s not really what got me interested in the game. It doesn’t surprise me that less than half a year after I explained that dating sims aren’t really a thing anymore, that Huniepop exploded into mainstream recognition, a game created surprisingly by Western developers targeting an English speaking audience. Games that are well known to the English speaking community like Kanon of Megatokyo fame, or Fate/Stay Night are often put in the dating sim category but the term “visual novel” is more appropriate, emphasizing that these games focus on telling a narrative rather than providing an interactive game. To clarify, what distinguishes dating sims from the plethora of other games where the protagonist develops romantic relationships with a virtual harem is the focus on dating as the primary game mechanic. That is not to say that eroge and galge are no longer popular – the market for such games is probably larger now than ever before. Back then, I answered that dating sims were pretty much a relic of the 90’s, and that high profile games like Tokimeki Memorial aren’t nearly as common now. HuniePop, HuniePop 2, and HunieCam Studio are available now on PC.A few months ago, a developer that was interested in starting a new project asked me for some background on dating sims. And if you haven’t played the first two games and HunieCam Studios if you haven’t yet. So for now, you just have to speculate with this artwork for now. Course the project is subject to change and the art shown here may not reflect the final product. Even the developer warned fans in the follow-up tweet to not get any hopes up as it is far off in the future that we are to hear any news of the next project. While this is exciting for fans, do note that it is very early in development. For what it may mean, many have speculated it could be a High School theme though the last time we saw these girls in the first game, they were already in college. The art presented was created by Ninamo ( now, the project is codenamed Hunie HS. Kyanna is presented with a simple but effective ponytail hairstyle. Lastly, the Sporty Mom of Kyanna with the complete jogger’s look with Yoga Pants, Sports Bra, and arm phone holder. The Japanese teacher Aiko dressed in a loosely fitted kimono showing off the undergarments and cleavage. It includes the girl next door Tiffany in a nostalgic striped look with a twin-tale hairstyle. The developer included new and aged-up designs for three characters that were in the first game but omitted in the second. Particularly looking for those who have an interest in anime/Hentai in 2D and 3D art style. 2D, 3D, Anim whatever you do, if you're good, we'd love to hear from you.Ī few days ago, the developer for the Hunie series posted up a Job posting looking for artists to help in the next project of the series. We are looking for talented and experienced artists with an interest in anime/hentai to join our team. For you degenerate fans who are wanting more Hunie games like HuniePop, HuniePop 2 and Hunie Cam Studios, we got an art tease from the developer for the next project.
